We want to start off by thanking God Almighty who granted us the privilege of life for today and for using our Amazon and working representative the Rt. Honourable Lynda Chuba Ikpeazu to bring the long awaited federal presence to the health sector in Onitsha.

With the upgrade of the General Hospital Onitsha to the Federal Medical Center Onitsha, she has finally etched her name in the sands of time and further given credence to the fact that she loves Onitsha and Anambra state beyond what words can express.

Rt Hon lynda chuba ikpeazu sponsored the Bill for the Establishment of the Federal Medical Center Onitsha 2019 to the 9th Assembly, a Bill which successfully passed through all process as required for the passage of bill. The bill was passed by the House of Representatives on December 14, 2022 and was sent to the Senate for concurrence. The Senate subsequently granted the concurrence on January, 17th, 2023.

The bill was transmitted to Mr President and was given the Presidential Assent in March 2023.

To the Glory of God, Onitsha has a Federal Medical Center today.
