WORLD TEACHERS' DAY 2022: ON THE ROLE OF TEACHERS IN TRANSFORMING THE EDUCATION SECTOR.

It is said that Teachers are like 'signposts pointing their wards toward the path of success' and today we celebrate these angels who guard the gates of knowledge and in whose care the future of Nigeria lies in.

WORLD TEACHERS' DAY 2022: ON THE ROLE OF TEACHERS IN TRANSFORMING THE EDUCATION SECTOR.

These calm but firn formulators whose duties it is to shape the perspective of our nation and carve the direction of our collective future and who has fastidiously and steadfastly worked behind the scenes to drive the progress of our country.

Our mentors in whose words we form our opinions, and whose sentences laid the foundation for our thought processes.

Our sages who time and time again, selflessly and firmly stood like signposts, guiding us on our path of success and self development.

Today we celebrate these individuals who selflessly dispense wisdom to all who seek.

Those great ones who held our hands as we walked the path of self discovery.

On this note, I would also like to point out that it is imperative that we recognize the importance of teachers as nation builders and agents of change and reorientation; especially now that the nation is dire need of positive thought reinforcement and like the theme for this year's celebration highlights, we can't transform the educational system in our nation without transforming those who will mount these duty posts.

Keeping all these in mind, I join my voice to that of the rest of world to celebrate my teachers, the teachers of the Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency and teachers all over the world while calling on all agencies, departments and ministries in whose hands the welfare of our teachers lie in to ensure that they put in place the necessary processes to ensure that our teachers are protected and adequately rewarded for their selfless service.

Words cannot encapsulate our gratitude for your sacrifices, neither can they satisfactorily describe the role that you play in nation building.

Overwhelmed and speechless we say

THANK YOU!

THANK YOU!!

and

THANK YOU!!!

For everything and more.

Daalụ nụ rinne.

Happy Teachers Day.

With all my love, highest regards and best wishes,
Honourable Lynda Chuba Ikpeazu
Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency.
